Surveying Instruments and Equipment in Slovenian Lands with the emphasis in Dolenjska

The exhibition presents a systematic insight in to the measurement equipment, especially the instruments that were used in setting up and maintaining the land register in the area of today’s Slovenia. On display are limbed chain at sežnje or klaftre for a length measurement of land (probably from the first half of the 19th century), a simple table of measurement, mapping, drawing and computation accessories, land plans and surveying instruments-nivelirji, tahimetri and especially theodolite from the end of the 19th century to the present day.

The objects are complemented by billboards. The exhibition also presents the use of geodetic instruments in archaeological excavations in the Kapiteljska njiva, carried out by the Dolenjski muzej Novo mesto.
